Hawks Humbling Victory after 49 Year Wait

Congratulations to the Chicago Black Hawks and Los Angeles Lakers on winning their respective league’s championships. The Hawks rather young team of talented skaters and the Lakers rather old team of talented hoopsters prevailed over detemined opponents to win it all. While the NHL win by the Hawks over the Flyers seemed to be less contested than the Lakers NBA win over the Celtics, both are worthy victories.

  1. I’ve watched the final game of NBA and the replay yesterday and it was really nice.

Just to think if Jerry Reinsdorf had been wise enough keep one Phil Jackson in his employment one Michael Jordan would not have retired from the Chicago Bulls when he did. Imagine the number of championships Chicago would have won if Phil was still coaching the Bulls. Imagine the quality of players we would have seen in Chicago. I’m elated for Phil Jackson, the Chicago connection and the L.A. Lakers.

It’s unfortunate that it took the death of old man Wirtz in order for the Hawks to put together a championship hockey team. Rocky Wirtz deserves tall kudos for his management of the team. I look forward to many years of championship hockey in Chicago.
